Four members of same family killed in car crash

Four people believed to be from the same family have been killed in a car crash in Wales.

The collision involved a tanker, car and a van, Sky News report.

Dyfed-Powys Police said two men and two women died during the accident between Llangurig and Ponterwyd in West Wales.

An infant girl who has suffered serious head injuries is being treated in hospital.

Two fire brigades were sent to the scene of the crash and a 21-mile stretch of the road remains closed.

"The collision occurred at approximately 2.55pm this afternoon, and a tanker, a car and a van were involved," a police spokesperson told the broadcaster.

"We can now confirm that tragically two men and two women sustained fatal injuries in the collision, and a female infant has been taken to the University Hospital of Wales Cardiff in a serious condition.

"Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
