First Lady tries to make a fresh start
VALERIE Trierweiler has sought to make a fresh start as the First Lady of France after admitting that she has underperformed in the role.
In her first public speech as an ambassador for the humanitarian foundation established by Danielle Mitterrand, Miss Trierweiler (47) said: "I stumbled a bit at the beginning.
Dressed in a camel coat, black trousers and her trademark stilettos, she added: "You do not become First Lady overnight, but I now feel great joy doing these sort of things and I will continue to do them." (© Daily Telegraph, London)
