Ex-policeman behind 24-hour strip club bid
BRITAIN could get its first 24-hour strip club -- if councillors approve an application spearheaded by a former policeman who used to oversee licensing in the borough where the venue is based.
Bob Dear took a job at lap-dancing chain Spearmint Rhino's London club after retiring from the Metropolitan Police last year. He is now a key part of the team that is asking for the club to be allowed to stage strip shows seven days a week.
Last night the controversial application went before councillors in Camden, the borough where Mr Dear was the Met's licensing sergeant for 13 years.
