Divorce reveals 'modest' woman's £57m fortune
A woman with an inherited fortune of more than £57m (€65.4m) and her husband lived in a £225,000 semi-detached house, drove the same "modest" car for many years and sent their three children to state schools, a court has been told.
The woman's "abnormal wealth" -- which had come from a company her scientist grandfather set up in Israel -- meant that neither she nor her husband needed to "generate earned income", the Court of Appeal in London heard.
Details of the Israeli couple's lifestyle emerged as judges decided how much of the woman's money the husband should get following a divorce.
Judges ruled that, in order to protect the "normality" of the children's lives, all of the family members should remain anonymous.
