THE estranged wife of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has appeared in court charged with vandalising his car with a child's scooter.

Matilda Conejero (47), allegedly damaged the Range Rover belonging to the 50-year-old restaurateur while it was parked outside his west London flat.

Mrs Conejero, who is known as Mati, is also accused of damaging a wall and the door of the chef's home during the alleged incident in May this year. She denies the charge.

The chef, who has a restaurant in Dublin, has since begun a relationship with Emilia Fox, a 38-year-old actress. Mrs Conejero appeared at Isleworth Crown Court charged over the incident in Holland Park. Police were called to reports of a "disturbance" outside the chef's home just before 8.30pm on May 7.

She was accompanied by her 10-year-old daughter during the short hearing and spoke only to confirm her name. She has already pleaded not guilty to criminal damage. Mrs Conejero lives with their daughter in a flat above a pizza restaurant in Chiswick, west London, once owned by Pierre White. He remains married to his third wife, with whom he has three children. The other two children live with him.

Mrs Conejero started divorce proceedings five years ago, claiming that her husband had been unfaithful. While they later dropped the divorce amid mounting legal bills, the couple were never reconciled.

Ms Fox, who separated last year from Jeremy Gilley, a peace activist, with whom she has a daughter, aged one, is said to have known the chef for "years".
