Still no Irish sale date for latest 'Charlie Hebdo'
RETAILERS still can't confirm when the Charlie Hebdo 'Survivors' Edition' will be delivered to Irish shelves.
Yesterday, EM News Distribution informed stockists that although demand is very high, "at this stage we cannot confirm when we will receive any stock of this title".
Although almost 2,000 copies of the first magazine since the deadly Paris attacks have been ordered in Ireland, suppliers expect "any forthcoming supply" to be "extremely limited".
Jim Kenny, owner of Centra in Blackrock, is "disappointed" by the confusion. "This week would have been the week if people wanted to buy it," he said, adding his expected order of 50 copies was due to be delivered last Friday.
Although, Mr Kenny has experienced some objections about selling the satirical magazine from customers, he said, "it is my way of showing some sort of solidarity with all the people who suffered".
