Campbell left injured after violent mugging in Paris
SUPERMODEL Naomi Campbell is said to have been left with a torn ligament in her leg after being violently robbed in a wealthy suburb of Paris.
Following the assault, Campbell's billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, is said to have flown her to Colorado where she was treated by top orthopaedic surgeon J Richard Steadman, and has also upped her personal security.
The supermodel was targeted by two people on a motorbike who tried to grab her handbag as she sat in her car.
She was reportedly left with a torn ligament in her leg following the attack, which took place just off the Rue de Rivoli.
She was later pictured sitting in a wheelchair with her left leg in a brace.
But Ms Campbell refused to see a doctor when she reported the crime to police.
A police source said: "On November 21, two people on a motorbike attempted to steal Ms Campbell's handbag as she sat in a vehicle on Rue de Moussy.
"She filed a complaint with police in the fourth arrondissement but she did not agree to a medical examination."
It is unclear how the model was wounded but police sources said one suspect had managed to open the car to snatch her bag.
There have been no arrests in connection with the case.
Over recent weeks, the 42-year-old model has been spotted using crutches and a motorised wheelchair.
Campbell and her agent have declined to comment, with Campbell politely saying: "I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine."
