The London Marathon will not be "blown off course" by the "appalling" bombs that killed at least three people in Boston, the UK's sports minister has said.
Following the explosions at the Boston Marathon, Hugh Robertson said he was "absolutely confident" that the London event, due to take place on Sunday, can be kept safe.
Mr Robertson said he is both "horrified and appalled" by the explosions. However, he urged people in Britain not to worry about the London Marathon and show "solidarity" with Boston by carrying on regardless.
Police in Britain will today start reviewing security arrangements for the London Marathon.
