A woman has been found dead and a man found injured inside a house.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said officers were called to reports of "serious concern" for a man and a woman inside a property in Chapman Way, Eynesbury, St Neots, just after 5pm on Monday.

The spokesman said officers "are not looking for anyone else in connection" with the incident.

An ambulance was called and a man was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where he was in a stable condition, while the woman was declared dead at the scene.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination is likely to take place later on Tuesday, Cambridgeshire Police said.

An 87-year-old man from Eynesbury has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge. A police cordon remains in place
