Girl (4) in critical condition after being 'shot in the head by an arrow'

A four-year-old girl remains in serious condition in hospital after reportedly being shot in the head by an arrow.

The child was left with severe injuries after the incident which occurred at a house in West Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon.

After being treated at the scene by paramedics, she was then air lifted to Leeds General Infirmary, reports the Daily Mail.

The young girl - who was on life support until Monday afternoon - has had surgery for a head injury.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident after being called to the scene shortly before 1pm on Saturday.

It is believed that the injuries caused were not intentional.
