Family heartbroken after puppy drowned in bath by 'cruel' burglars
A family has been left devastated after their puppy was drowned in the bath by "cruel" burglars.
The family home in Cobholm Close, Norfolk, was broken into on Wednesday and a number of items were stolen.
Seven-month-old puppy Benji was found by the family the next morning dead in a bathtub filled with water.
Benji's owner Mark Philips told ITV news that the dog was part of the family and they have been left devastated.
He described Benji as a "friendly, lovable dog" who was "great with children".
Detective Sergeant Richard Wallis said: "This is particularly cruel crime and I would urge anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour in the area at around the time of the burglary to come forward.”
