Driver arrested on suspicion of murder after car smashes into pub

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a car smashed into a pub in Essex.

The victim has been identified as a 36-year-old man who died at the scene after a white Nissan Qashqai crashed into the Spinnaker Public House in Colchester.

Another 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

Two other people, a 34-year-old woman and 33-year-old man, were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

One neighbour said a woman had been seen in the car having a panic attack. She suffered minor injuries.
