Silvio Berlusconi paid €60,000 in legal fees on behalf of Nicole Minetti (right), the Anglo-Italian former TV starlet accused of procuring prostitutes for his 'bunga bunga' parties, according to prosecutors.
The money was part of a €100,000 lump sum paid from the former Italian premier's personal bank account to that of Miss Minetti (28) in June last year, bank records show.
She transferred €60,000 to three lawyers who are defending her. Miss Minetti is accused of acting as a madam for Mr Berlusconi. She denies the charges. She is to be a key witness in Mr Berlusconi's separate trial on charges of paying for sex, and abuse of office, which resumes on Monday. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
