Emotional school reunion as judge meets old classmate in courtroom dock

A courtroom was left stunned after an emotional reunion between a judge and one of her old classmates arrested following an alleged burglary.

US judge Mindy Glazer was presiding over the case of Arthur Booth (49), who was arrested for burglary and theft on last Thursday in Miami, Florida.

Addressing the suspect, she suddenly remembers the man from years ago when they were in playmates at Nautilus Middle School.

Asking Mr Booth if he had attended the same middle school she did, the man instantly recognises the judge and breaks into a huge smile as he spots his old pal.

However the happy moment is short lived as Mr Booth immediately breaks down and repeatedly cries “Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness.”

In the heartrending scene, judge Glazer expresses her dismay at his circumstances.

“I always used to wonder what happened to you, sir,' she tells him. “I'm sorry to see you here.”

Mr Booth covers his head and cries as Glazer tells the court, “This was the nicest kid in middle school.”

“He was the best kid in middle school. I used to play football with him, all the kids, and look what has happened.

“I'm sorry to see you there, I always wondered what happened to you sir," Glazer says as Mr Booth continues to cry.

"What's sad is how old we've become. Good luck to you sir, I hope you are able to come out of this ok and just lead a lawful life."

According to an arrest report, Mr Booth was spotted driving a gold Honda Accord that was suspected of being involved in a home burglary.
