A mother who caused uproar after pranking her son by telling him that he has Ebola has told her critics to ‘chill out’.

The 48-year-old nursing assistant’s video went viral online after she filmed her son as she pretended to take his temperature.

“Look at his temperature. Oh hell, no. This n***** got Ebola,” she is heard saying from behind her surgical mask.

The footage shows the child, believed to be eight or nine years of age, bursting into tears.

The video, uploaded to Instagram, received over two million views in just two days. It caused uproar online with many labelling the prank a ‘sick joke’.

But the mother has since told her critics to ‘chill out’.

“I’ve had people tell me I shouldn’t exist, that they were calling the cops on me and that I am heartless,” she said.

“Everybody should just chill out. He cried for 15 minutes and when we told him we were playing he didn’t believe us.

“We’re not bad parents,” she continued.

“We’re always playing pranks.”
