Drink driver jailed after being caught speeding home from pub by his own dashcam
A drink-driver has been jailed after being caught speeding at 132mph on the way back from the pub - by his own dashcam.
Nathan Williams, 41, was stopped in his white BMW by officers while travelling home from the Wayfarer pub in Stone, Staffordshire, on July 6.
He had crashed into a Ford Focus on the exit slip road at Junction 16 of the northbound M6 moments after reaching the incredibly high speed.
Dashcam footage from his car showed he reached speeds in excess of 130mph.
Williams, of Woodshutt's Street, Talke, Stoke-on-Trent admitted dangerous driving and drink-driving.
He was sentenced to 12 months in prison at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on October 12, Staffordshire Police said.
Williams was also disqualified from driving for three years and six months.
Pc Mark Bishop, of the Central Motorway Police Group, said: "Williams used his vehicle as a weapon.
"He attempted to provoke confrontation with other road users, and it is more by luck than judgement that no-one died as a result of his jaunt to the pub and back."
