Briton bailed over 'betting scam'
A British man arrested at the Australian tennis Open over a gambling-related offence has been released on bail and allowed to return to England.
Daniel Thomas Dobson, 22, was arrested on January 16 and is accused of using a hidden electronic device to send live point details from a tennis match to his British employer, Sporting Data Limited.
Dobson was charged with one count of engaging in conduct that would corrupt a betting outcome. His lawyers deny the charge.
Melbourne magistrate Gerard Lethbridge released Dobson on bail on condition he lives with his father, who is a detective inspector with the Metropolitan Police.
