Boy, nine, stops woman taking newborn brother from hospital
The attempted abduction of a newborn child was foiled by the quick reaction of his nine-year-old brother, police in Germany said.
A 34-year-old German woman had taken the baby from a hospital room while the mother was sleeping, Hamburg police said.
The brother followed the unnamed woman and talked to her, and she handed the day-old child back.
She was arrested and taken to a psychiatric clinic.
Police spokesman Ulf Wundrack said the boy's actions contributed "significantly" to the baby's return.
