Boston bombing survivor set to marry his rehabilitation nurse
A man who was severely injured during the Boston bombing has become engaged to his rehabilitation nurse.
Around eight months after the horrific attack that left him hospitalised, James “Bim” Costello popped the question to Krista D’Agostino, a nurse who helped him recover at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
Mr Costello made the announcement on his Facebook page over the weekeend.
“As you all know, April 15th was one of the worst days of my life, suffering not only physical injuries of my own but the emotional difficulties when I learned about my friends. I soon wondered why and for what reason this had happened,” he wrote on Facebook.
“I now realized why I was involved in the tragedy, it was to meet my best friend, and the love of my life. Eights months later I’m happy to announce that we will spend the rest of our lives together."
He attached a photo of Ms D’Agostino’s engagement ring.
The pair, along with a number of other survivors and first-respondents are now on an all-expenses paid 'Heroes Cruise' later this month.
