Video: Lucky escape for young woman as car smashes through service station wall Newsdesk Newsdesk

A woman picking up some groceries at a gas station had a lucky escape when a car crashed through the wall of the premises.

Catherine Crawford can be seen making her way to the till to pay for her items when the vehicle smashes into the store, through the front glass wall.

She was thrown to the ground by the force of the impact as the car narrowly missed mowing her down.

The incident occurred an Australian highway service station in Sydney, co-owned by George Diab

"I thank the gods many times that she's still okay," Mr Diab told media after Ms Crawford's close call.

In the footage, the car's occupants are seen being helped by passers-by.

They were later treated at the scene by medics and then taken to hospital.

The man, believed to be the driver, was reportedly missing when medics arrived.

it is not yet known what caused the incident.
