Prank call DJ sues station over 'workplace safety'

London Daily Telegraph

One of the two Australian radio hosts behind the tragic prank call to Kate Windsor's hospital is suing the broadcaster for "failing to provide a safe workplace".

Mel Greig has not returned to work and has reportedly been distraught since the suicide last December of British nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who answered the phone. Ms Greig is still employed by Southern Cross Austereo but has launched a claim against them in the Fair Work Commission, Australia's workplace relations tribunal.

The firm runs the station and broadcast the prank call in which Ms Greig and co-host Michael Christian duped Ms Saldanha into revealing details about Ms Windsor. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
