Kim rules out dismantling nuclear arsenal as top US diplomat to visit
North Korea yesterday ruled out dismantling its nuclear arsenal in exchange for the US declaring an end to the Korean War, saying a peace treaty should "never be a bargaining chip".
The warning came as the US State Department announced US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to Pyongyang on Saturday to try to further denuclearisation talks with the North Korean regime.
Mr Pompeo will also travel to Japan, South Korea and China.
His visit comes ahead of a planned second summit between Mr Kim and US President Donald Trump.
The invitation to return to Pyongyang to discuss North Korean denuclearisation efforts was made during a meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho amid UN sessions last week.
