Eleven kindergarten children have died after a minibus collided with a truck in eastern China.
The Xinhua News Agency said the minibus driver was also killed in the accident in Shandong province.
Citing police, Xinhua said the minibus was hired as a school bus and was carrying more passengers than it was supposed to. Overcrowding on buses is common in China.
A series of accidents have focused public anger on school bus safety in rural areas, where there is a shortage of education funds and children are often forced to travel long distances because of school closures.
