Watch this raccoon rescue from a sewer in Canada to restore your faith in humanity

By Laura Dennison

The furry fighter was later released into the wild.

A raccoon was rescued from a sewer in the City of Welland in Canada, after getting its head stuck in a storm drain, confirming that the world isn’t all bad.

An animal rescue team were called to help the little guy by attempting to use some of the tools they had with them.

Spreaders, chains and blocks were all used but the storm drain just wouldn’t budge open…

Until, with a bit of brute force, the rescuers managed to remove the drain – in dramatic fashion as the rain poured around them – and the raccoon wiggled out to freedom.

The furry fighter was later released into the wild.
