Tug-of-war MPs overpower peers
The Commons has emerged victorious in their annual charity tug-of-war match with the Lords.
A formidable team of MPs including Tories Mike Penning and Tobias Ellwood, Labour's Karl Turner, and the SNP's Angus MacNeil lined up for the 25th year of the much-loved contest.
And they proved too much for the peers - despite lending them Liberal Democrat John Hemming in an effort to even things up.
Cancer support charity Macmillan hope to have raised more than £100,000 from the event in Westminster Abbey's College Gardens.
