Premier League confirm Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave Man United
Man United are still expected to aid the Swedish forward with his rehabilitation.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been released from Manchester United, the Premier League has confirmed.
The Swedish forward came to the club on a one-year deal from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, with the option to extend for a second year.
But after netting 28 goals for United, the 35-year-old suffered serious knee ligament damage in April and has been out of action ever since.
The club said they would be continuing to provide rehabilitation for the Swede, who is not expected to return to play until early next year.
Ibrahimovic’s injury means a new number nine is high on United’s list of priorities this summer.
One fan, above all the others, summed up the mood on twitter:

He will be missed.
