Police weren't particularly impressed by the hijinks of this teenage parkour enthusiast

By Prudence Wade

Jason Osborne clambered up Liverpool’s big wheel.

We see so many talented people doing crazy stunts on the TV and YouTube that it’s easy to forget that what they’re doing is incredibly perilous.

That is why the police were more than a little perturbed to see YouTube video blogger Jason Osborne’s “exceptionally dangerous” free-climbing exploits.

Needless to say, don’t try this at home.

Osborne, 18, was seen climbing the Wheel of Liverpool shortly after 6.10am on March 23, when a member of the public alerted police to his activities.

Merseyside Police said its officers “gave advice” to the keen parkour enthusiast, who said it was inadvisable for others to follow in his footsteps.

You can see the full – and slightly sweary – video here.

Osborne said: “I’ve been practising parkour for around five years and climbing comes natural to me but I still take precautions.

“I’d also like to say this is done purely out of my own interest and wouldn’t advise anyone to do it without training.”

Inspector Steve Hardy, of Merseyside Police, said: “We would encourage people to be sensible when they are out and about and not put themselves and others in unnecessary danger.”
