A parachutist has been rescued after he got stuck in a tree for more than an hour following a crash-landing near a town centre.
The man had to wait 75ft up the tree in Peterlee while firefighters figured out how to get him down, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue said.
He is believed to be uninjured but has been taken to hospital as a precaution, the brigade added.
A brigade spokesman said crews had difficulty accessing the man but eventually managed to reach him on an aerial platform.
It is believed that he was meant to land at Peterlee Parachute Centre in Shotton Colliery but drifted off course during a sky-dive this afternoon.
