Obese man cut out of home dies
A morbidly obese man who had not moved from his recliner chair in two years and had to be cut out of his home when he fell ill has died at a hospital, according to media reports..
Reports said the Ohio man died on Wednesday.
Wheeling Hospital in West Virginia confirmed the death of 43-year-old Richard Hughes.
WTOV in Ohio said rescuers had to cut him from his recliner and take him through a hole in a wall on Sunday.
Landlord Lou Ann Bennett said the 348lb man lived with his girlfriend and the house "stunk to high heaven".
She said he was active until his knees started hurting and he got in the chair and would not move around.
She said he needs to be left to "rest in peace".
