New Yorkers reminded it's only art
Police in New York have reminded members of the public that figures soon to be gazing down from buildings in the city are an artist's body casts - not people in distress.
British artist Anthony Gormley's Event Horizon installation consists of 31 lifesize figures of himself, cast in iron and fibreglass.
They are being installed on pathways, pavements and rooftops for an exhibit in and around the Big Apple's Madison Square Park, starting on March 26.
New York Police spokesman Paul Browne said that the department was worried the upcoming outdoor exhibit might spark emergency calls reporting possible jumpers, so wanted to alert the public in advance.
Gormley first created the installation for a show in London in 2007.
