Little piggy looks for a new start

A mischievous baby who loves to wrap herself in straw and take a nap needs a new home.

Rosie the cross-breed pig has been cared for at an RSPCA rescue centre since August.

And staff at the centre in Wimblington, Cambridgeshire hope she can make a fresh start in 2010.

"She's one of our more unusual residents. She's not one yet but she's a big baby," said an RSPCA spokeswoman.

"We took her in because her old owner could no longer care for her.

"But Rosie needs and deserves a happy long-term home with people who can give her the attention she needs and we hope someone can take her in.

"She's a lovely, friendly pig and a great favourite with staff.

"She likes to wrap herself in straw before going to sleep and loves to snooze.

"She likes nothing better than being around people but she's very mischievous and chases our feet when we get in her paddock."

Staff say Rosie will need a field, space to wallow and a pig ark or shed in which to sleep.
