Knicker nicker to be sentenced
A former mayor who broke into women's homes and stole their underwear is due to be sentenced.
Ian Stafford, 59, resigned as Mayor of Preesall in Lancashire when he was arrested in connection with the missing garments.
The women called in police after their underwear kept disappearing and one victim even installed a hidden camera in her bedroom.
Stafford, of Sandycroft Place, Preesall, pleaded guilty last month to burgling the properties in Poulton-le-Fylde and Stalmine, Lancashire, between January 1 and June 26 last year.
Judge Philip Sycamore gave bail to the part-time handyman and gardener but told him not to "draw any conclusions" from that about the sentence he will be given at Preston Crown Court.
"All sentencing options are open," he said.
