A house resembling the distinctive facial features of Adolf Hitler has become an unlikely hit on the internet.

The end of terrace property in Port Tennant, Swansea, has turned heads among locals, with the lintel above the door echoing the toothbrush moustache of the Nazi dictator and the black sloping roof resembling his hair.

Photographs of the building, posted on social networking site Twitter, have been viewed more than 65,000 times after TV comedian Jimmy Carr tweeted about the abode.

Port Tennant residents said they had not noticed the resemblance until the home, just off Fabian Way, attracted national media interest.

Plasterer Donald Payne, 60, said: "You'd never know from this side of the street, but from a bit of a distance, it could almost be him. How funny that I never even noticed before.

"If it starts attracting the wrong sort of people, I might speak to the owner and see if he'll let me paint the front door another colour - or give the roof a centre parting instead."

However, others say the "Hitler House" has given them plenty to smile about on the drive into Swansea.

Call centre worker Alun Withey, 28, of Pontlliw, Swansea, said: "The resemblance to Hitler is really funny. It looks like a Lego version of him.

"Fabian Way can be a bit of a nightmare, especially around rush hour, so the house will at least give motorists something to smile about next time they are stuck in jam."
