Gorilla mascot attacked by banana
The manager of a mobile phone shop in the United States has explained why he called emergency services to report a gorilla being attacked by a banana.
The Wireless Centre in Strongsville, near Cleveland, Ohio, advertises by the side of the road with a man dressed in a gorilla suit. Last week a young person dressed as a banana emerged from some bushes and took a flying leap at the store mascot, said manager Brandon Parham.
The manager said his gorilla mascot was knocked down but got back up, adjusted the head of his costume and went back to work. Reports said the banana split, running down the street with other teenagers. Police have said they think the attack was a prank and have not identified the offending banana.
Mr Parham said the attacker looked like a Spartan from the movie 300, except that he was dressed as a banana.
