Geldof struggling with baby's name
Bob Geldof has revealed he is still struggling to come to terms with saying the name of his grandson, Astala.
The singer and Live Aid supremo has already said he is not a fan of the unusual name, but has now admitted he is not sure how to pronounce it.
Speaking on ITV1's Lorraine show he joked he would have preferred his daughter Peaches, 23, to have named her first child after gloomy music veteran Leonard Cohen.
She gave birth to Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof - her child with musician partner Tom Cohen - last month.
Asked how the name should be pronounced, Geldof said: "I don't know, I haven't said it yet - I can't bring myself to say it."
He continued: "I wanted to call him Leonard - Leonard Cohen. 'Have you met my grandson Leonard Cohen?' But he's a fantastic little chap. He is cute and they're really good parents so it's great. They're really happy."
Geldof is no stranger to unusual names for children - alongside Peaches, his other daughters are called Fifi Trixibelle and Pixie, plus his adopted daughter is called Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily.
The former Boomtown Rats star added that he was pleased by his daughter's choice of partner. Cohen plays with the band S.C.U.M.
Geldof said: "He's a great guy, but importantly he's a fantastic musician - really, really good. I'm so thrilled that I can go to the gigs and not have to say 'that was quite good'. I mean, an amazing band. So it excites me actually, aside from the fact he's Astala's dad."
