Mr Howard explained: “I instantly gave my condolences and asked her to come eat with us, which she was excited to do. The point in this is always be kind and be nice to people.”

The good deed reached over 64,000 shares on Facebook.

Mr Howard told Press Association: “She was just sitting alone. I felt that she needed company… It doesn’t cost a cent to be kind.

“I love the comments because they are mostly positive.”
