Flamingo chick not yet in the pink
Taking in its new surroundings, t his Chilean flamingo chick is just over a month old a nd is the newest member of Chester Zoo's flamingo flock.
But it won't start showing its distinctive pink feathers for another six months.
The Chilean flamingo is classified as a near threatened species, w hich means the breed is likely to be at a high risk of extinction in the near future, due to egg poaching and habitat loss.
With the new additions, Chester Zoo's flamingo population now numbers 112 and the zoo is hoping this will increase further by the time this little guy reaches adulthood.
