The FA has been forced into a last-minute repair job after tens of thousands of Wembley flags were printed with the wrong teams on.
The flags were to be handed out free to supporters of Stoke and Manchester City at the FA Cup final.
But the FA said that due to an error by suppliers, part of each one needed to be cut off as the City flags stated they were playing Bolton, while the Stoke version had them facing Manchester United.
An FA spokesman said: "The flags had the incorrect details printed on them despite the third party supplier being sent the correct details by the FA.
"We have since amended the flags and they will be in place to help fans enjoy what will be a memorable occasion."
