Enzo Zidane's glorious training goal had a little of his dad about it

By Max McLean

Once he starts producing these in Champions League finals, we’ll be convinced.

There can’t be many with bigger shoes to fill than Enzo Zidane, son of Zinedine, scorer of two World Cup final goals and the greatest Champions League volley of all time.

But the 21-year-old, who scored on his Real Madrid debut in November, has been showing that, in training at least, he is capable of some classic Zizou skills.

It’s fair to say the fans loved it, as well they might…

… but after a disastrous appearance for Real Madrid’s reserve team less than a week ago, where he missed a penalty and was sent off, Enzo might do well to redeem himself with such feats on the pitch, too.

It’s a great volley, no question, but it falls a little short of this.

Like father, like son? That’s the dream for Enzo.
