Dimbleby refuses to add to tattoo
David Dimbleby has ruled out a return to a tattoo parlour despite finding out his scorpion tattoo is missing a couple of legs.
The broadcaster told ITV's Loose Women: " Apparently it should have eight legs, not six."
The 75-year-old said he was "not allowed to say" what his wife thought of him getting his first tattoo on his right shoulder.
Asked if he would be going back to have the extra legs added, he said: "I'm not going to do that."
He added: "I'm no David Attenborough, I didn't spot that but a pparently there's a thrash metal band called Megadeth in America and Megadeth have a six-legged (scorpio n) so I'm now a fan of Megadeth."
Earlier this week Dimbleby said he was delighted with the "modest" image.
The Question Time presenter told the Radio Times: " You are only old once. I have always wanted a tattoo. I thought I might as well have it done now. It's a dream come true for me."
Dimbleby, who has been presenting the BBC's general election coverage since 1979, got the tattoo while making the maritime series Britain And The Sea, set for broadcast later this month.
