World's first black supermodel Sims dies aged 61

The woman known as the world's first black supermodel has died at the age of 61.

Naomi Sims was born in America's racially segregated Deep South in 1948.

She was the first African-American to appear on the cover of the New York Times magazine and is credited with opening up the white-dominated fashion industry.
