Three injured after passenger plane makes emergency landing after 'tyre blew' mid-air
Three people were injured after an Air Canada plane experienced a problem on a runway yesterday afternoon.
A spokesperson for the airline confirmed the plane encountered difficulties during the landing.
The incident occurred at Edmonton International Airport at 8.36pm local time last night.
The Air Canada flight left Calgary with 71 passengers and four crew members.
The plane was mid-air when the pilot realised a tyre had blown.
The plane was diverted to Edmonton due to strong cross winds at Calgary.
The airline spokesperson claimed the plane made a “smooth landing” but something went wrong shortly afterwards.
Three passengers were injured as a result.
The three passengers were taken to hospital for minor injuries – no other injuries were reported.
A picture posted on Twitter last night showed the Air Canada Express plane tilted on its side.
