Thorough sweep of Statue of Liberty 'finds no bomb'
A thorough sweep at the Statue of Liberty after a bomb threat has turned up no explosives, US authorities said.
The landmark was evacuated as a precaution after a 911 caller made the threat and a canine unit sniffed out a potential problem. But authorities said a more thorough sweep came up empty.
The Park Service said that the threat was from a person who said "they were going to blow up the Statue of Liberty".
Hundreds of visitors were evacuated by boat. No one was harmed.
