The shocking moment police officer kills unarmed black man stopped for missing front licence plate

A shocking video shows an unarmed black man shot dead by a police officer as sat in his car in Cincinatti in the United States.

The footage shows the man turning the key in his ignition after a police officer instructs him to take off his seat belt.

The officer then reaches toward the door, yells “Stop!” and draws his gun.

He thrusts his weapon through the open car window and fires a single round, striking the driver in the head.

Raymond Tensing (25) was charged with murder for fatally shooting Samuel Dubose (43) after the routine traffic stop last week. He was pulled over for not having a front licence plate

At first, Tensing said he was forced to shoot Dubose because he was being dragged by the car and nearly run over, according to the initial police report. But Deters said that didn’t happen, and Tensing was wearing a body camera that captured the incident.

The incident was described by a local prosecutor as a “senseless, asinine shooting.”

The episode added Cincinnati to the list of cities where white officers have shot and killed black civilians, drawing national attention and fueling an ongoing debate over police use of deadly force against minorities.
