'That guy right there. That’s the robber' - Raider comes back to rob bank during live TV report
A local TV news reporter was giving a live update about a bank robbery when the alleged raider returned to rob the bank a second time.
Adam Sallet was reporting for Minneapolis new channel KIMT 3 outside Sterling State Bank in Rochester on Tuesday when a bank employee ran up to him and started pointing at the suspect.
“That guy right there. That’s the robber,” the employee said, pointing.
“Oh, that’s the robber,” replied Mr Sallet.
“This is live TV, folks.
“That’s the robber, just went by, according to the bank employee.
“So, I’ve got to go here and call 911. I’ll talk to you later,” he said signing off.
Police later arrested a 36-year-old after pulling him over in a vehicle near the bank, saying that it was their belief that he had come back to rob the bank two days in a row.
“Fortunately for us, we had a police officer that was returning from a Twin Cities training class and he spotted the [suspect’s] van on Highway 52 and called it in,” Rochester police lieutenant Mike Sadauskis told KIMT 3.
