A young teenager (16) was beaten and fatally stabbed in the US, after he was lured to an apartment by a girl on Facebook, according to reports.
Police in the Bronx in New York City believe 16-year-old Ricardo Romero was contacted on the social media site by a 17-year-old girl, identified by the Facebook handle “Chiquita Andy.” He reportedly agreed to meet her an apartment building on Creston Ave. in Fordham Heights in New York.
Police have said they suspect they boy was lured to the apartment by the girl.
According to reports, a gang of young men attacked him once he entered the apartment.
“He was struck in the head with a bottle, stabbed in the left side of his chest and robbed of his wallet and cellphone before he stumbled around the corner and collapsed,” said police officials.
The young teen was given CPR while an ambulance was called, officials said, but he then passed away at St. Barnabas Hospital, 25 minutes later.
Police said the attack was caught on surveillance video.
The police reportedly questioned male Christian Juarez, who lived in the building where the victim met the girl, and he was arrested this weekend. He was then held without bail on murder, robbery and weapon possession charges, according to officials.
Police are allegedly seeking accomplices.
“I was crying,” victim’s sister, Viridiana Romero (22) told US media. “I couldn’t believe it.”
