A TEENAGER has been arrested on child porn charges after pretending to be a 12-year-old student at a primary school for three months.

17-year-old Ricardo Javid Lugo enrolled at Hurst Hills Elementary School in Texas.

Lugo was arrested with 28-year-old Randy Ray Wesson, who was posing as his father when he enrolled.

Wesson admitted to police that he had 42,000 child porn images stored on his computer.

When police became aware of the case, Lugo was escorted out of a classroom in the school by officers.

"I don't understand how the documents could have been forged to the point where no one in the school could figure it out. Obviously, I'm shocked," parent Danny Scott told a local TV station.

"Hurst Hills staff followed all procedures regarding enrolment when the student was enrolled in August," the school said in a statement.

"There was no indication the records were forged or he was too old to attend elementary school. The student's behaviour at school also did not raise any concerns.”

A police spokesperson said that they have no reason to believe any student in the school was exploited in the pictures, however he added that they do believe some children in the state may be featured.

Lugo's bail has been set at $250,000 -  while Wesson's stands at $3m.
