Seven people arrested after lottery winner (20) is shot dead in his home
Seven people have been arrested after a 20-year-old man who won the lottery just two months ago was shot dead in his home.
It is understood the former forklift driver was targeted after he won a $434,000 (€387,000) jackpot in late November.
Three masked men broke into the home of Craigory Burch Jr. and demanded his wallet before shooting him several times.
Seven suspects in total have been arrested and all face charges of malice murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and firearm possession charges, according to WALB-TV.
Burch's girlfriend Jasmine Hendricks ran for help after witnessing the attack.
She has since spoken out about her ordeal.
"When they came in, he said, 'don't do it bro. Don't do it in front of my kids. Please don't do it in front of my kids and old lady," she said.
