A MOTHER has been charged by police after fraudulently taking donations for her cancer treatment – despite not suffering from the disease.

The 35-year-old Ohio woman was only discovered after an anonymous tip to police.

Mindy Taylor even documented her supposed cancer battle in an online blog.

In her most recent post before being arrested she said: “For those of you who don't know, last week was really hard for me. I pushed myself a little too much (shocking I know) and wasn't prepared for the increase in chemo".

She had amasses hundreds of loyal readers – with some even taking part in charity runs to raise money for her treatment.

Ross County Prosecutor Matt Schmidt told The Dispatch that he didn’t think her actions were all about money.

"I think she's a hypochondriac and that she enjoyed the attention. Even now. Negative attention is still attention, right?"

According to local reports Taylor has applied for a diversion, which means she would admit wrongdoing and re-pay the money.

She is due to appear in court in June.
