A MAN is facing murder charges after a horrific attack on a pregnant woman, which left her and her unborn child dead.

Janice Pitts was waiting at traffic lights in Atlanta when her car was rammed by 23-year-old Dewey Green.

Pitts got out of her car to assess the damage, when Green rammed again and trapped the pregnant mother between the two cars.

Pitts’ daughter was in the car at the time.

“He just kept hitting us, he just kept hitting us,” Iesha Davis told local station Channel 2.

“I’m banging on the window, ‘Please, you're crushing my mom, you're crushing my mom. Please, you're crushing my mom. He wouldn't look at me, He kept his face straight and kept his foot down on the gas,’" Davis told Channel 2’s Liz Artz.

“He backed up, my mom's body dropped,” said Davis.

Police say Green then ran over Pitts’ dead body.

“After that, I just completely lost it. I don't understand why. I don't understand why,” said Davis. “I'll never ever get the image of my mom lifeless body lying on the pavement and the man ran her over like she was nothing."

Arresting officers said Green smelled of alcohol when he was pulled over.

Davis says her mom, a two-time breast cancer survivor, died on the scene.

Police arrested and charged Green with murder and aggravated assault, but he could face more charges.

It is not yet known whether Green will face charges for the death of the unborn child – it is believed Pitts only recently fell pregnant.
